He who loves Beauty / Ciclo Lied Santiago
“…a voice well balanced throughout its various registers, and with excellent body language and presentation.”
El Correo Gallego
Jonas / English Touring Opers
“It is deepy touching and Jorge Navarro Colorado sings Jonas’s great prayer with beauty and sincerity.”
“Jorge Navarro Colorado stands out, in particular, in the title role.”
“A strong central performance by Jorge Navarro Colorado…”
“Just as Dido sings her great lament, Jonas prays for forgiveness, and the fervent devotion of the tenor Jorge Navarro Colorado feels genuine.”
Damon: Acis and Galatea / London Handel Festival 2018
“…there was some very beautiful singing from Jorge Navarro Colorado as Damon…”
“Jorge Navarro Colorado made a lively and genial Damon, dispatching his runs with precision…”
“…displayed a pleasingly mellow tenor and relaxed stage presence. Damon’s second aria, ‘Consider fond shepherd,’ was beautifully sung, the top light but true.”
Berengario: Lotario / Accent CD
“Jorge Navarro Colorado gets around rapid triplet fiortiture superbly in Beregnario’s bitter reaction to his defeat (“Regno e grandezza”), and his awakening penitence is admirably euphonious (“Vi sento, sì”).
“The show is stolen by Jorge Navarro Colorado. As Berengario, the Spanish tenor is far superior to Steve Davislim, with a flexibility that is never forced and with agile coloratura and an easy high register. Without a doubt, he is the revelation of this recording and one to be watched.”
Emilio: Partenope / Iford Arts
”Jorge Navarro-Colorado makes much of Emilio’s arias“
The Arts Desk
Giuliano: Rodrigo / Göttingen Festival 2019
“Among the men, tenor Jorge Navarro Colorado presents a Giuliano, initially successful as a soldier, then as a brother and rebel, and finally a wily winner of his territory. Tall of stature, his gestures are well-controlled and his stage presence (already noted in the 2017 production of Lotario at Göttingen) is mesmerising. His diction is clear and precise, and his easy projection gives him a noble panache. His vocal production remains very flexible, including when he is engaged in violent acts and: his “Stragi, morti,” whose ambitious ornaments are taken up by the oboes, while he overturns the sofa and breaks the furniture, resonates as one of the strongest moments of the performance, an impressive dramatic and vocal number, deserving our applause. Let us also not forget his enchanting “Fra le spine” at the beginning of the second act, and the brilliant panache of his “Spirti fieri,” which opens the third act.”
“The radiant, extremely flexible tenor of Jorge Navarro Colorado is always virtuosic and precise.”
“Jorge Navarro Colorado’s singing is beautifully secure and his acting heartfelt.”
“Of the men, the palm goes, as it did last time he was in Göttingen, to Jorge Navarro Colorado. His presence, coloratura strength and acting performance were outstanding.” Capriccio Kulturforum
“Jorge Navarro Colorado presents Giuliano with an agile tenor and is convincing in his development from the king’s follower to his opponent.”
“Jorge Navarro Colorado sang Giuliano, oscillating between frustration and fury, with his robust yet sweet tenor ringing out.”
“Jorge Navarro Colorado as Giuliano lives up to his name with a wide spectrum of colours to his voice…”
“Jorge Navarro-Colorado is a dashing, sharp-suited Giuliano and sings beautifully.”
The Opera Critic
Giuliano: Rodrigo / Accent CD
“…impressing both in militaristic swagger (his default mode) and in two lyrical arias, both charming…”
“As Giuliano, tenor Jorge Navarro Colorado has a light and warm-sounding lyric tenor.”
Don Ottavio: Don Giovanni / HeadFirst Productions
“Jorge Navarro Colorado’s clarity, precision and poise gave dignified substance to Don Ottavio…”
Aminta: Euridice / British Youth Opera
“Rather than list the main soloists, who have already had the limelight, here are two who stood out in supporting roles: Spanish tenor Jorge Navarro Colorado as Aminta in Euridice and Japanese baritone Koji Terada as Marcello in La bohème…”
The Tempest / New London Consort
“Jorge Navarro Colorado sang well and was a striking presence…”
In the Dark
Otumbo: Alzira / Chelsea Opea Group
